Mark Hales, CWS®
Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor 

Mark started in the financial services industry in 1997 as a commodities broker with Smith Barney and has been in the same Main Street location ever since. He moved to D.A. Davidson in December 2008 in the heart of the financial crisis — a decision that proved to be one of the best of his career. Mark holds his CWS® designation as well as a bachelor's degree in business from Oregon State University. He has served as branch manager for both the Pendleton and Walla Walla branches. Outside of the office, he spends time working on the family wheat farm, which has been in operation since 1877. Mark also enjoys attending Beaver sporting events with his wife, JoAnna, and four children, Michael, Jacob, Madeline, and Jace.

Michael Hales, CFP® 
Financial Advisor

Michael was introduced to finance at a young age through his dad and took a special interest in financial planning while at Oregon State University. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in finance and an MBA in wealth management. He also held internships with Northwestern Mutual and D.A. Davidson and served as president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. After college, Michael moved to New York City where he worked as an advisor consultant for Lord Abbett and later as a fixed income specialist for TD Ameritrade. After five years on the East Coast, Michael moved back to Pendleton with his wife, Saffi, to join D.A. Davidson in 2020. When not at work, he enjoys traveling and attending concerts.
